Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts.

Yes, you can use joystick for the game. I assure you my support to getting this resolved so please try the troubleshooting steps listed below:

1. Launch the game in CAMPAIGN mode.
2. From the OPTIONS menu, select Key Bindings to adjust your controls.
3. Go through the Infantry/Vehicle controls and clear out all the Joystick settings/buttons/axis.
4. Go through Jets/Helicopters settings and remove all single button/axis control settings for Mouse and Keyboard.
5. Once you have performed the above steps, exit the game and install the driver for your joystick. (Calibrate it with Windows, if required.)
6. Re-launch the game in the CAMPAIGN mode.
7. From the OPTIONS menu, select Key Bindings, and set your axis/buttons for your jet and helicopter as you would prefer.

Please make sure that you go through each Joystick Button/Axis and adjust it for your Joystick, as every joystick button layout is different.

I had to reply to them, telling them again that I was on PS3 and not PC. This was their next response

Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts and letting us know about your issue.

I am glad you liked the game and assure you to provide the continual support throughout from my end.

We at EA, strive to make our customers have an exceptional experience. Any deviation from this is dealt very critically. Your case definitely merits attention and I assure you my support in getting this sorted out.

Please allow me to explain while looking into your issue I have found that joystick can be used in the game Battlefield 3. I request you to kindly go through the process mention.

In the BF3 control options select the control layout with the throttle/yaw on the right stick and the pitch/roll on the left. The T flight HOTAS is programmable allowing you to swap buttons on the fly and create a button layout comfortable for you. A big advantage with using a flight stick is the full range of throttle and yaw. Think of throttle/yaw on the stick as a square, while on a dual shock it would be like a circle inside the square, you can't reach the corners. I have yet to be out turned by a single fighter.

Basically, Uses of joystick varies from one manufacturer to another. So I request you to kindly go through the instruction manual. Moreover you can contact the Sony play station customer care to confirm the manufactures of joystick which are supported by the Sony play station. If the problem still persists feel free to contact us. I will be glad to assist you.

I humbly ask for your understanding regarding this matter.

OK so here's where I stand. I took a look at the Joystick they mentioned and it was good but it had a few drawbacks... One is that it was wired, and two that it was small according to reviews. I have big hands so I need a bigger joystick(not the way your thinking Winky Winky) I then looked at You must login or register to view this content. and I think it's pretty good I want to hear your opinion, do you think the joystick I chose is a good one? Also does anyone else have a joystick? I'd really like to hear your opinions.

It takes some getting used to. I remember it took be about a month after BF2 came out to get my joystick controls down.

Worth the Weight
I can only use a mouse and keyboard to fly jets. I thought it would be easier to use a controller, until I hooked it up to my PC and could hardly take off properly. But then again, you are on Ps3, so you must be used to the feeling of controllers etc.

But if you would like a joystick, the one you have listed is probably amongst the best, however it being wireless can cause some issues.

That's the one thing I'm worried about but I'd rather have wireless because well... i got enough wires running around my room. lol.
