My guess is that when you switch places it treats it as a new vehicle. My understanding of how they detect the boosting and stop the points from gaining would be something like this:
IF Vehicle.DamageType = UpsideDown OR NotEnemy AND RepairTime > 10s THEN
Stop.Points
