Post: Do you think the M16 is still the best assault rifle?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); My usual and most popular setup with the M16A3 (Pre-patch) was a Cobra Sight + Foregrip + Suppressor. With the new patch out, this setup isn't that effective, since the foregrip increases the spread of your bullets including the suppressor, which makes this setup horrible for mid-long ranges. I've been messing around with a few setups with the M16A3 and I've found that putting a foregrip + flash suppressor is best for all ranges. From what I've heard, the flash suppressor gives you an accuracy bonus. Combining this with a foregrip will cancel out the foregrip's accuracy/spread penalty resulting in a pretty similar feel of the foregrip + suppressor setup (Pre-patch). Try this class out. Would love some responses telling me if this class preforms like the old M16 or not.

I will admit that other guns have gotten a LOT stronger, but the M16A3 is still the best.
Oh and also, what happened to the extended mags from the B2K LMGs?

Easter Egg!
Been only using the M16A3 post patch with: RDS-Foregrip-Suppressor & i feel it`s still one of the best guns.
I didn`t notice too much of a change in the foregrip & suppressor, i can easily pick off people at mid to long range combined with selecting single fire on at times.

Try the M416 with a Kobra, Underslung M26 DART, and Flash Suppressor....it's great.

Thanks I will give this a go. I am really finding killing people at longer ranges more difficult since the patch, but maybe I just suck :p

I do 3-5 bursts in mid-long range. With the new bullet spread penalty, this won't be as effective anymore. I know that single bursting would help but you need to take down targets fast before they start shooting you and you cant even hit them due to the op suppression mechanics.

Yup. Foregrip's bullet spread penalty is killing me.

I wasn't aware that using a foregrip caused extra spread  Thanks, I guess I won't be using it as much.

I actually still prefer the AN-94, G3A3 and L85 over any other assault rifle in BF3. :p
