yes it was, id really like my friends to be able to pick up a preowned game and jump online with me

I think its free, all you have to do is make an origin account and link it with your ps3/xbox account. I helped my friend in doing this so i know it is free, atleast for ps3

by dropping this EA may plan doing something even worse maybe, but yeah sad cause I got friends who I want to joint too o bf3

Looks like it is free - not sure if just temporary or permanent. I loaded it up for the first time after buying it for my PS3 (previously an Xbox player).
