I do not believe the classic playlist has leaderboards...as of yet.

Have you prestiged? After you prestige none of your score counts towards the leaderboards. It's a glitch that's currently been worked on. I'm 2nd prestige so I've missed out on a lot of scoring at this point and I'm quickly falling off the leaderboards.

No wonder it's a ghost town there.

You still level up...but as far as rank, nope. When you toggle leaderboards to "classic" leaderboards they are blank with no one on them.

Ive seen that bug but im still 19 on classic S& on ps3
