This usually happens when you're running a anti-ban eboot when you're banned. It's strange that this is happening on a brand new console, It could be that your mac is flagged :p

If you're running a modded eboot just go into black ops without signing in to PSN once you're in the multiplayer menu sign in through the PS home button and let it load a bit (10 to 15 seconds) and try going online.

I would do what Sync is saying because Modified EBOOTS really mess with the banning system and if you let the game go through the check and then login afterwards; it will give it enough time to register everything.

it keeps connectin to online service because the eboot is Antiban and wen u r using antiban u press play online it just keeps connecting... u gotta wait until u can click triangle and your friends come up then u can click play online Smile
