(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I have to say, I'm a big fan of the Call of Duty single player campaigns and it's always something I look forward to in the new release of a Call of Duty game. This year things Activision and Treyarch have taken a different approach to how the release or tease campaign information. Generally, E3 is the first big reveal of campaign information - with no talk at all of multiplayer. This year, E3 focused heavily on Multiplayer, and we didn't get much on Campaign. However, one thing we did learn is that Co-op campaign has returned! - Or at least in the pre-alpha build. This is the first time it's returned since World at War - and that was absolutely brilliant last time around. Here's hoping for a return of Death Cards too as opposed to intel. If you haven't seen the sole campaign footage from E3 check it out below.

Meanwhile, what we actually know about the campaign is fairly limited, but there are some facts and figures floating about. Unsurprisingly, the campaign is set in the same 'universe' as Black Ops and Black Ops 2, which technically means it's also a long-winded follow on from World at War also. Here's some of the latest information most recently popped up on DigitalSpy:

• Once again developed by Treyarch, Black Ops 3 is a direct sequel to Black Ops 2 and is set roughly 40 years after its predecessor's 21st century cold war.

• Military technology once again takes centre stage, and human soldiers with cybernetic limbs and other tech-based augmentations are the norm. This new technology has given birth to new abilities in the game, such as wall-running, mantling and power-sliding. It's a movement system not unlike the one found in last year's Advanced Warfare.

• Plot wise, ground-based warfare has seen a resurgence after a global shutdown of airborne combat. This has led to a rise in augmented soldiers, as well as robot adversaries that you'll see in the campaign

Campaign: 'More freedom'

• For the first time in years, up to four players can team up to tackle Black Ops 3's campaign co-operatively. It supports local co-op for two people via split-screen, and players can join a friend's game even if they're further in the story.

• The branching storyline of the last Black Ops game will be replaced with missions designed to be replayed from different perspectives, with action taking place in more open stages complete with more adaptive enemies.

• If players prefer to tackle the game solo, they can. Stages will also contain smaller routes that are more focused.

• Players can choose between male and female protagonists, and the campaign is said to contain a gender-neutral script.

• The co-op campaign contains spotting through a new Tactical Mode, which means that when one ally spots an enemy, that same enemy will be tagged for all to see.

• Customisable Cyber Cores give players a suite of abilities, with the power to control vehicles and drones, detonate explosives and unleash a swarm of nanobots. Players can decide which of these they want before a mission begins.

• Individual players and teams will visit a Safe House between chapters, which can be used to customise characters, explore the game's lore and show off medals.

So big changes with the whole 'perspective' idea. Like Black Ops 2, the concept of a branching campaign with outcomes dependent on actions seems to be returning, however this time a little more so. I guess then things are looking promising from the campaign side of things, lots of different perspectives will probably mean a hell of a load of trophies/achievements similar to Black Ops 2.

Will update the thread as soon as any further information regarding the campaign is released.
