Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has received a new update version 1.03, however, it might have downgraded the server send rate to 20hz from the original 60hz according to a new report.

This discovery was made by Reddit user Smcro who share his findings in a long detailed post. While there is nothing official shared by Treyarch on this matter, the user stated that he found out the server send rate is downgraded to 20hz after the new update. It was originally 60hz during the Beta test and launch week of Black Ops 4. The patch that was deployed on October 19th appears to be the main culprit here.

Here is what he had to say in the conclusion of his post on the server send rate getting downgraded.

The server send rate has been lowered from 60hz to 20hz causing more inconsistency compared to the beta due*
to the fact that there is (on average) triple the amount of time between server updates. Also, it would seem that*
matchmaking sometimes chooses servers that are undesirable in terms of latency. It would be nice to have the*
ability to whitelist server locations which give the best experience to prevent this from happening.

It is a rather strange turn of events since the launch of Call of Duty Black Ops 4 is rather successful as well. Activision reported more than 500 million dollars in sell-through revenue for Black Ops 4 on day one and also confirmed that it had the highest concurrent player count out of all current generation Call of Duty games.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is available now of the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
