Post: How to host 1.11 patches on 1.13 updates without patch blocker (intended for noobs)

Mario!
-Alright, so starting from the very beginning.
-You will need to have an internet connection on your cfw ps3.
-You guys are going to want to download one of these 1.13 updates depending on your region.
BLUS30377:You must login or register to view this content.
BLES00683: You must login or register to view this content.
BLES00687: You must login or register to view this content.
-Once downloaded, put it on a usb flashdrive and install it into your PS3.
-Once it is installed you are going to want to install this link for a FTP server pkg.: You must login or register to view this content. and once you've downloaded it, put it on your usb and install it on to your PS3.
-When it's installed click on it so it opens and an IP address in red colors pops up.
-Now go to your computer.
-Now download this program which helps you connect your PS3 to your computer: You must login or register to view this content.
-Once you've installed that into your computer you are going to click twice on it so it opens.
-On FileZilla, click 'File' then 'Site Manager' then 'New Site'.
-Look at the IP address on your PS3 because this will be the 'host' for FileZilla.
-On FileZilla, the port you need to type in is 21.
-The username is FTPD12345.
-You will not need a password.
-Now once you have done that and your IP addresses match then click connect.
-Now go to hdd0.
-Then go to BLUS 30377 or BLES00683.
-Once in there delete the default_mp.self.
-Then replace the patch_mp with one of the 1.11 patches I'll provide at the bottom of this post.
-After you've done that, you're done just close out, do a data transfer, and you'll be hosting MW2 1.11 challenge lobbies on a 1.13 update without a patch blocker.

Or there is an alternative option. You can install a 1.11 update with a modded 1.11 patch and edit the PARAM.sfo file to 1.13 with a PARAM.sfo editor.

Could have been much simpler... Open the PARAM.SFO of a 1.11 patch in Hellcat's SFO editor, change the "1.11" to "1.13" and that's it... Run the game twice and the PS3 won't ask for an update.

Not sure why you would think anyone would groan this post. It's a very good post and, whilst i'm not particularly a noob at this stuff, I did not know you had to delete default_mp.self in order to host 1.11 for PS3 these days - i've only just made the switch from modding on my PC to the PS3 because of the takedown of AlterIWNet. Although I have since switched to AlterRevolution, but got interested in modding on PS3 since I bought one. Therefore, this post was quite helpful for me. Thanks

Yeah, the majority of us do. But, for the people new to PS3 hacking, this is still fairly useful. I've seen in the questions section that people ask if you can still host challenge lobbies for MW2, so I figured I'd make this thread.
