(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello everyone. I though I would give a simple text-based guide to converting a PS3 MW2 patch to a XBOX MW2 patch and vise versa.

Now you may compare this to Elite Mossy's converter tool in that it requires a XBOX and PS3 patch.

Also know that while I am specifically showing MW2, this applies to ANY FastFile on ANY Platform...

I am going to assume you wish to convert XBOX to PS3.

  1. Go to ffViewer.com
  2. Sign up if you do NOT have an account.
  3. Click on "Open ffManager" to start.
  4. Upload the fastfile you wish to convert if it is not already uploaded.
  5. Either upload a PS3 patch_mp.ff or use a template. If you ALREADY have a MW2 PS3 patch/FastFile that you are willing to have its contents OVERWRITTEN, then you don't need to add a new one.
  6. On the XBOX patch/FastFile listing, select options -> Copy/Convert FastFile.
  7. Choose the PS3 patch/FastFile and press continue.
  8. Now here is the SLIGHTLY tricky part. You must tell the converter tool what what rawfiles you want from the XBOX patch/FastFile copied to the PS3 patch/FastFile. This means you COULD have buttons_default.cfg copied to maps\mp\gametypes\_missions.gsc if you wanted to. So you just will need to know which file is which. After doing it alot you should know. If you need to, open a mw2 original patch/FastFile and look at the file names as a reference Smile.
  9. While you are "mapping" the files so-to-speak, you can check a box to copy the file name over as well... What I mean by this is the contents of the rawfile would copy BUT NOT the name itself!
  10. Now press "Copy/Convert" when your ready.
  11. When its done, just go to the MW2 PS3 patch/FastFile listing and go to options -> view/edit. Then just go and save the patch/FastFile. After its saved download it from the options menu and enjoy.

Also remember the benefits of ffManager is that it doesn't blackscreen or at least not WAY as much. Also its not a computer program thus no download so MAC and LINUX users like myself (I use linux <3) can use it without any windows emulators or bootcamp. There are MANY MANY more features to the service, you just need to take time and look Smile.

No. Let me be clear on the differences between the oh famous buc shotz converter that everyone dick-rides. I will not go into a technical speech as most either will not care or will not understand.

BuC-ShoTz "patch" converter only works on MW2 patch_mp.ff's. You may only convert up to 2 times before you get a corrupted zone/file. It also only runs on windows. IMHO it does its job but it does not do it very well (No offsense buc Smile.

Now understand ffManager can open BOTH PS3 and XBOX "patches". Due to this you can easily convert ANY fastfile. The converter basically copies the rawfile data from source file a to destination file a and optionally the file name.

BuC-ShoTz tool was originally used because people could not easily open MW2 PS3 files AT ALL. That is now a issue of the past. Also know this runs ANYWHERE as it is a web-based application Happy.

Also be aware that the converter would work for any console and any cod game that supported to be read by ffManager... That DOES include COd4 and COD5 for those who can't read between the lines.

Also if you wish to make an argument that it has a region changer and thus is better, you are again wrong. ffManager supports that at well via the Change Region option. I am soon adding COD4 and COD5 support for that too Happy.

So as of now there are way better tools at your hands to use. Its up to you to take advantage of them Smile.

Enjoy Smile
