With the recent release of firmware version 3.50, many have been sceptical about updating with the worry of not being able to use the data transfer functionality to copy patches across from 3.41 to 3.50.
I can confirm I've just successfully transferred my data from my newly-jailbroken 3.41 PS3 to my Slim PS3 running 3.50. I'm in LAN Party and the patch is working successfully so I can only assume it will work when PSN is back up and I'm able to go online.
I'm in the process of recording everything and I'll upload a video when done but I can 100% confirm that you're able to upgrade to 3.50 and still be able to transfer from another PS3 running 3.41!

Good luck with the video. At least you can jailbreak. I'm STILL looking for a device that's fairly cheap that I can run PSFreedom on. I have a 3.41 PS3 that has a dead BDD Drive, so all it is going to do is get me access to the HDD via FTP to edit the patch. I even have a really good patch to use (something like Unkn0wn's only not quite as perfect).

I'll upload the one I'm using soon - its not my own but it works well on BLES-00683 (no black screens etc.) and works online when ported through to 3.50 via data transfer.

Okay Okay, are you saying there are practically 3 methods? The first being hunter and TheUnknowns method, The Jailbreak method, and now your method? Or did you find out the better original way TheUnkn0wn and Hunter found out?:carling:
