It's a glitch.

If you back out before a loss it doesn't affect your streak.

But Before I Signed Off The Night Before I Woz On A 36 Win Streak Then This Morning I Got 2 Losses In Free-For-All Then A Win And I Have A 37 Win Streak WTF :S

No, this is a glitch in FFA. FFA never stops your winning streak even if you lose (at the bottom of the list). It will add a win to your streak if you place in the top 3. This only works in FFA. No other game modes. I know people who have gotten a 1000 winstreak (legit) just by playing FFA.
