So my brother tried cleaning it out and still never worked so he looked for people online that would fix it and today we found a guy in the same area as us. When my brother spoke to this guy, (he's an expert with PS3's) he said that the cause of the YLOD was MW2 because the processor of the PS3 cannot handle the game being on for too long. He said other CoD's can be left on like 2 days at a time. So by tomorrow I will have my PS3 back and my brother is also gonna buy cooling fans.

This is just a warning to you guys, do not play MW2 hours on end and leave it on overnight or whilst you aren't even playing it (like I did.)

EDIT: And woah, this post just got me 100k vbux.

thanks, if im gunna play for a long time il remember to turn my fan on high and point it at the PS3, never would of thought of that before i saw this

any game can cause your ps3 to over heat..
its also depends on the placement of your system (how close it is to the wall, If its in an enclosed area ect..)

It happends to any playstation being left on for too long and over heating. No one game will be the source of the problem.

i share a ps3 with my brother and the ps3 has been on for at least 6-10 hours a day for the past month, and no problems.

yes but MW2 is like a drug
