I happen to think there are alot less of them than people imagine there are, here's why...

There's a uav up and you see someone is going to come around a corner near you, you could either go prone and kill them when they appear or you might quickly hide so when they run past you shoot them in the back.. From their veiw it looks like they've been camp killed.

If you've just emptied a clip and killed 1 or 2 enemies and you know there's more coming, you might be sensible enough to take cover and reload, when you then jump out and kill the next.. It looks like you were camping.

I've often won a 1v1 but took damage so my screen is red so I'll get in the nearest corner and crouch down to recover, just then someone runs by so I do the sensible thing and shoot them.. You know what that's going to look like on their killcam.

Someone has died several times attempting to cap a flag or plant a bomb, it was a hard won battle so they might want to defend it for a little while. When they've killed a few enemy in that area they move on to the next objective but it may seem they've been camping for ages getting cheap kills.

There are plenty of other scenario's that look like camping, such as people hiding to call in a killstreak or taking cover to change their class.
People need to look at the big picture and maybe realise that camping isn't as common as they think it is.

your post seems to me like your a tactical player and have sense, but there is players out there that cant even understand how to aim/shoot together so hide in corners, it does happen

Agree 100% COD players look for what you did that was "unfair" compared to what they did wrong. All out rushing isn't always helpful and all out camping/hiding like a bitch all game is boring. I like a happy median.

I stay away from regular TDM, SND and HC because to me those are boring because people are almost afraid to move and it's boring.

But in general,camping is a legitimate problem turned into a scapegoat. It's unrealistic to think everyone will or should literally run around the map in the open like Rambo in 1v1 siutations. Campers can be annoying but if you play with a party it rarely matters. A lot of people can't get kills unless someone is a red dot on their UAV yelling "here I am". Good players dislike yet kill campers. Bad players let those campers repeatedly kill them.

However the word "tryhard" is even worse. I once got a quad MP7 spray on Seatown and got caled a "tryhard" using an "overpowered" gun. So sometimes even if you rush some scrub will say the gun and you somehow "caring" too much about kills is bad. Can't win for losing lol

I've yet to be spawned inside a building, in a corner under the stairs.
And most of the killcam views I get do not show them holding a killstreak device or a bloody camera view.

Calling someone a camper is clearly abused, but I have spectated enough of the 3 and 8 idiots to be irritated by being one of their 3 kills when I'm 1 off a pave low.

Most of the campers i get killed by are the ones in very tight corners at the back of the map. it pisses me off!

Thats how you play MW3 you can't rush around you gotta move from corners hide behind boxes anything that gives YOU a tactical ADVANTAGE. You're probably right but i'm still gonna call them fkin campers eventhough i'm one of those guys who sneaks around and pumps people lol.

Bottomline, its closer to a fact than myth

I've sorta becomed a campers nightmare :p
Since all I really play is SnD I basically know all the maps like the back of my hand and know where all the "campin spots" are on every map, once you know this then campers arnt really a threat.

Although you get the odd guy who sits in some stupid place camping lol

its crap of duty 2.5 . campers are nothing new to this franchise , this franchise is what actually made more people online into campers ,

campers and lag have been part of crap of duty for years now . I can probably find a thread about every cod game just like this , on this forum
