Where everyone can play on there servers for Free. You can currently download the files at the moment so you can just play once the weekend starts.

1. Download Steam
2. Create an Account
3. Login and it will show you the News
4. Click "next" until you see the free weekend MW3 news
5. Click the button that should say "click for details"
6. Then click the "pre-load" game
7. It will then install MW3 Multiplayer once the weekend starts
8. Just open up steam go to "games" mw3 multiplayer
9. And click Play

free MW3-weekend starts on Thursday, February 16th at 10am Pacific Time

This is a a great legit way to try this game without buying it but check if you are able to run MW3 with decent FPS and a DECENT/FAIR connection.

MOST IMPORTANTLY...There is one problem...Expect "some" cheaters trying to ruin your free game experience as the MW3 anti-cheat (VAC) is unable to keep those people out!!! This is an FYI!!

Once you have preloaded it could you go into the directory overwrite with altermw3 crack files and play online for free after it has ended?

yes or you could do what I do go to "tools" on steam and download "mw3 dedicated server" then add altermw3.exe and run it in that folder.
