I HAVE ORIGINAL COPY OF THE GAME (DISC NOT STEAM)

My problem:
After installing cod waw and opening it i cannot start the campaign till i create the "active" txt file with the name of the profile i want to use. When i create that file everything works perfectly fine (I can even join servers) but then again when ever i try to go to profile menu, the game crashes. I have no idea what the problem might be. I have not tried this regedit thing because i belive that this is for steam users (steam doesnt write the cd key down properly or something like that).
