[multipage=NextGenUpdate Auction Dispute Rules]
Before you open a dispute make sure you have read and understood the following:
Dispute layout
When opening a dispute, use the appropriate layout found here.
Failure to do so will result in closure of the dispute thread within 24 hours, at most.
Posting in disputes
The dispute resolution modification prevents users not involved in disputes from posting in them. When opening a dispute be sure to accurately type in the correct information so the correct user is contacted.
Behavior within a dispute
A dispute thread is very formal. Behave at your best and be mature. Bad behavior will not help your case at all.
Any unnecessary name calling, swearing or remarks will be picked up on. The tolerance for bad behavior is a lot lower in disputes than in the rest of the forum. Flaming will be infracted at once.
Abusing the dispute system
If you open a dispute just for a refund or other personal reasons the dispute will be closed and if done multiple times you will receive an infraction for wasting staffs time.
If you abuse the dispute system in attempting to take innocent users money/items/services you will be infracted for scamming.
Proof/evidence
Both the accuser and the accused user need to provide as much proof as possible. The user with the strongest evidence often wins the dispute.
If you edit/manipulate evidence in any way you will automatically lose the dispute, and possibly receive an infraction for your actions.
When you are asked to include evidence/proof and fail to do so within the deadline given the dispute will be closed.
Invalid disputes
If the trade was not done on NextGenUpdate or is older than 3 months you cannot dispute it. Any disputes where one of these factors occurs will be closed at once.
Include details
When opening a dispute remember to include as much detail about the trade as possible. When posting details make sure to censor personal information such as addresses. If it’s relevant to the dispute then send it as a PM to the moderator in charge.
[multipage=Dispute Ticket Template]
If you plan on opening a ticket please use this format. Moderators have the right to close threads or ask for the poster to change their template before helping with the dispute.

[multipage=Extra Information Regarding Disputes]
NextGenUpdate Scammer Userbar
Due to a higher level of repeated scamming and the desire to prevent scamming, Jim has added a scammer userbar for proven and currently accused scammers. It can be located normally where their normal userbar is.
Accused Scammer
An accused scammer is a user who is currently being disputed in the NextGenUpdate Disputes sub section. It is recommended you do not trade with this user until they have been proven innocent.
Convicted Scammer
A convicted scammer is a user who has been proven guilty or ignored an open dispute against them. Most scammers are permanently banned from NextGenUpdate. Those who have stolen vBux are sometimes not banned on their first attempt.This is because vBux can be easily replaced by administrators. NextGenUpdate staff highly recommends not trading with these users.
Users with less than 100 posts
If you have been scammed and you have less than 100 posts you are allowed to post a dispute. You will receive an infraction for trading under the required limit of posts though.
Trading outside of auctions
We highly discourage trading outside of auctions. Sensitive password related information is of course okay to take to private messages but any other conversations are encouraged, but not required, to be held inside the disputes section. Administrators can view private messages if needed.
Disputes older than 3 months
If a transaction that you wish to dispute is older than 3 months it will be closed. This is because of name changes, inactivity, and changes in information. Disputes that are older than 3 months become very hard to manage.
Scammer Warnings/Threads that do not involve trades
This section is for disputes only. You are not to post a thread to warn against scammers.
Archived Disputes
You must login or register to view this content.
The solved dispute sub section is an archive of completed disputes. Before trading you can enter this sub section and search it to do a check on the person you possibly will be trading with.
If you need your dispute reopened because there has been a complication please PM me or another moderator with your dispute link and it will be reopened and moved back into the main dispute section.
