Post: Can you update from 32bit to 64bit???

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); In My Control Panel it says my PC is 64bit capable so im wondering how i would update my PC from 32bit to 64bit, because i want to use after effects Happy

You could use after effects in 32 bit. What are you talking about?

And google. I'm pretty sure since my cousin has a 64 bit folder or something like that.

If your computer is 64 bit... just download Windows again and install the 64 bit version! xD

You can only upgrade if your system in 64 bit! :p

rgb is correct you can update windows versions IE win 7 pro or ultimate but you can not update from 32 bit to 64 bit the system configuration will not allow you to do so..

with a 64-bit OS you can use a greater RAM. 32-bit has a max of 4gb ram while 64-bit lets you upgrade untill 16gb. So this means 64-bit is more responsive and great if your using heavy programs.

I believe Windows 7 64bit has a better security system.

I actually did this just yesterday. You have to reinstall Windows over again, but just make sure it's the 64-bit version. I'm running on it now and it's great.

So it won't make a difference whether or not you're using 32-bit or 64-bit if you're not going to get more RAM?

Well 64-bit is set for the future. Technology is growing in the world of computers so its not going to stand still, thats why 64-bit is being used. But if you use old printers/scanners and such i would recommend a 32-bit OS.
