A big piece of computer science history

Everyone has heard of Apollo 11, the mission that took man to the moon. When the MiT was given the task, the technology had to be invented for the guidance system, so they invented the*Apollo Guidance Computer (AGC), which used it's own syntax and consisted of .agc files. The code was not at all high-level, as it was assembly. The source code for the entire system consists of thousands of lines of this assembly, using the*yaYUL compiler. In the system's inventing, they also invented rope memory, which literally consisted of a rope core of ferrite.

The software written by the programmers were "woven" into these ropes by women in factories, leading to the method's other name, Little Old Lady (LOL) memory. While AGC has been available to the public for years, it is only days ago where the source code for the Apollo mission was actually released. Ron*Burkey even decided to make a simulator of the AGC using this, the video of which is below.
