If you're not willing to consider alternate viewpoints why is this in intellectual/debating as opposed to general? Rejecting alternate ideas is inherently anti-intellectual.

This is coming from someone who, if I was an American, would be neither democrat nor republican. Not that it should really matter.

Normally I'd suggest you try and reason with them, but I'm debating some infuriatingly [INSERT OFFENSIVE WORD HERE] users at the moment, to the extent that I suspect they're trolls.

In fairness, there's a lot less of those sort of nuisances in this section.

Well I think that social health care is a great idea.
I loathe the thought that somebody would need to 2nd & 3rd mortgage to pay for cancer treatments etc.

I think that Obamacare was a knee jerk reaction to a much larger problem.
And more or less "Robbing Peter to pay Paul" unfortunately.

The premise might have been sound... but the practice is far too complicated.
And in this case... I feel will be misused, and exploited to further bankrupt a system, that is already on the verge of collapse.

Canada has an affordable system... but at the expense of affordability, is the serious lack of services. Long waiting times, General Practitioners that have not taken new patients in years, shortages of nurses and support staff, and the need for local fundraisers in order to purchase some very basic medical instruments/machines.

Wish I knew the answer... but I don't. I do know that Obamacare does not seem to be it either.

Non-partisan guy, here. Just wanted to drop a comment, and then drop out. You know, it's EXTREMELY refreshing to see someone who is party-affiliated with your type of stance. Not because I might agree with your view on Obamacare, but to get a strong sense of agenda-less politics (regardless of political affiliation) is...refreshing, to say the least. Kinda restores my faith in being politically-involved, in the future...

Or, that could very well be your Canadien coolness, that's showing. Actually, that's PROBABLY what that is...lol.
