(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Well we have Science vs. God, which is already a very controversial topic, and I might as well add this to the mix for those who enjoy politics. I'd prefer to have one thread where we can debate. I'll open up a poll while I'm at it. I'll tailor this thread to Conservative vs. Liberal vs. Libertarian vs. Other, so that I can open up the thread to a majority of nations instead of focusing on just one.

Don't get too heated, and please follow the rules. Winky Winky

The Democrats are the party of government activism, the party that says government can make you richer, smarter, taller, and get the crabgrass out of your lawn. Republicans are the party that says government doesn’t work, and then get elected and prove it.

The enemy isn’t conservatism. The enemy isn’t liberalism. The enemy is bullshit.

Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on, or by imbeciles who really mean it.

I'm ignoring most extreme forms of political beliefs such as socialism since they are often very hard to debate against and do not put a whole lot of logic to the table.

I am a conservative who preaches for smaller government and less regulations on business along with lower tax rates and less spending. Call me a libertarian.

Isn't socialism more of an economic perspective compared to the list which are political philosophies? A libertarian can have socialist tendencies as well can a liberals.

It would be Capitalist, Marxist and Socialist. //// Libertarian, Liberal, Conservative and other.

If I'm wrong, I do apologize.

EDIT---------------------
Yeah.. My bad they are both... I forgot what I learn't in Gov/Econ class... Sorry.

I don't understand this strong dependency and association people feel towards their "party". Liberal or Conservative, they don't care about you. It's as simple as that. Only the idiots of society believe that the government is looking out for them. Make your life what you want it to be and don't ever depend on society to do things for you.

Does society do anything for itself?

Society itself cannot survive like an Anarchy. We need a system of government, but the argument comes in to what extent and how much should a government involve itself in the people's lives.

Yeah I definitely agree that anarchy doesn't work, however that's where being an intelligent individual comes in handy. There are many sheep within the US that depend on the government, the advantage I have over those people is freedom from such a limitation. Not everyone is able to achieve this state of mind, hence allowing society to continue its existence, but at the same time allowing those with greater minds to be free.

Not sure how much of that made sense to be honest, but I hope you get the jest of it.
