Post: "Snoopers Charter" for it or against it?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So after last months murder of British serviceman Lee Rigby the government is now planning to revive the Communications Data Bill AKA the Snoopers bill. (Which I'd like to remind people that if this bill had been in place would have still done nothing to stop the attack, so this is being called a cheap attempt to bring the bill back) The bill would make it so that the the police would be able track suspects online much easier, being able to read e-mails, messages listein to online calls and much more that would essentially mean every British citizens online activity is being monitored.

Now I'm completely against this as it invalidates people's privacy, and there's always the argument that if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear, but everyone has something they don't want others to know about, regardless of how silly or insignificant it may be.

After a little more reading around though, it would seem that many ISP's and other large firms like google are stepping up to tell the home secretary it's a bad idea, difficult and costly to implement. But where do the members of NGU stand in regards to this bill? Especially NGU's other British members as this may well be the beginning of the end for privacy on the internet here.

My main fear is that not enough people in the country care enough to get this stopped, as most people just sit back and don't give a fuck where as many of you from my own generation would feel strongly about this as we live much of our lives online now.

Against already enough powers to be used right now.
No reason for it pointless idea. No end to what this could be used for.

Do a barrel roll!
In my opinion, every government can already do whatever they want. I am against this, but I do not live in UK so yeah..

Have I made it clear enough? If not, against.

As mentioned it's a massive violation of privacy for the sake of what, stopping perhaps if lucky one or two terrorists. No no no no no.
