When it comes to Nintendo and Sony, tension is heating up, and it's heating up really quick. Why, might you ask? The two legends of videogames are preparing to announce their next-gen consoles, alongside those announcements, they're gearing up to reveal their biggest and baddest games in their arsenal of power. Nintendo will be in the limelight as of soon, which isn't a shocker, as they plan on showing the world their newest console, the Wii U, before Sony and Microsoft will with both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720.

Veteran game designer Shigeru Miyamoto has begun the war of the worlds between the companies, by commenting on Sony's handheld gaming console, the PlayStation Vita. Let the trash talking begin!

"It's obviously a very hi-spec machine, and you can do lots of things with it," commented Miyamoto in an interview, "But I don't really see the combination of software and hardware that really makes a very strong product."

Miyamoto's negative comments about the PlayStation Vita are quite confusing, as Nintendo experienced a financial crisis last month. They announced a $533 million loss, and this is the first net loss they have ever had throughout the company's history.

The loss of such a great amount of money was partly pointed towards the Nintendo 3DS and the lack of sales, and when asked, Miyamoto agreed that it was indeed a great factor in what went wrong.

"When we launched the 3DS hardware we didn't have Super Mario 3D Land, we didn't have Mario Kart 7, we didn't have Kid Icarus: Uprising. We were striving to have all of these ready for the launch, but we weren't able to deliver them at that time," Miyamoto said.

Despite Nintendo and their loss, they plan on staying as positive as possible, and that's all they are when speaking about their lineup and future games, along with the announcements for E3 2012.

Wii U Console & Controller

The Wii U is highly anticipated and it is said that we're expecting to see it's official debut towards the gaming world, along with possible playable demos, and release date announcements. Hardware, in fact, is rumored to run 1080p in HD quality, as well as having the backward compatible ability to use and play previous Wii titles and various accessories. Some more rumors include 3D display, voice control, and a unique facial recognition sensor.

Controllers, for the next-gen console Wii U is expected to have NFC technology, using tags to interact with objects, making it seem a lot more realistic. Some leaked gameplay from Rayman Legends shows off some players using the Wii U tablet controls to manipulate and control the levels throughout the game. They were also seen placing different items on top of the tablet, and converting them into items within the game, now that's impressive!

Snagging two new patents, Nintendo is now in the works of generating new gameplay experiences for gamers, possibly creating a new era of videogaming in the future. Images show a gun-style holder, which you must place the touchscreen Wii U controller on top of two grips. When playing, you'll have the ability to control the light defice for both aiming and firing while you're facing forward towards the controller's screen.

Wii U Games

Nintendo's Wii U will also join in on the online gaming market, with their new e-store strategies placed into the system. You have the ability to either purchase from the company's shop on the console, or through a code from a retail store, giving you more options, one more convenient and new. This is the first time Nintendo will be allowing third party retailers to offer options for downloadable versions on 3D. Also, Google's Android OS, may play a big role in Nintendo's online debut.

Super Mario and Pikmin 3 are anticipated to make their Wii U debuts during the E3 conference next month, as well as Luigi's Mansion 2, Animal Crossing 3DS, and Paper Mario 3DS. Even though the Mario-style gaming has and always will be loved, why is Nintendo smothering their lineup with them? This isn't showing very much variety and may possibly hurt them in the long run.

Nintendo is confident they're going to impress all attendees of E3 2012, but Miyamoto isn't making promises about expectations during launch.

"The company now has to develop software for the Nintendo 3DS, has to prepare for the Wii U launch and has to finalize the hardware functionalities. With these circumstances in mind, if I said that an overwhelmingly rich software lineup would be prepared from day one, it would be too much of a promise to make," says Miyamoto honestly.

Sony has yet to release vital information regarding the potential PlayStation 4 Orbis console, other than it'll be released before Microsoft's Xbox 720. Among the war of the consoles, the PlayStation 3 is receiving high levels of usage, meaning a good amount of people are playing it averagely, keeping the console alive and active. According to a Strategy Analytics Consumer survey, PS3 consoles out does the competition with a 44 percent use on a weekly basis. Xbox 360 has a 40 percent rating while the Wii falls third with 30 percent. This gives Sony a big boost of confidence walking the red carpet of E3 2012.

Announcements such as God of War: Ascension and PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale have hit the announcements table by Sony, and will be making their debuts at E3 as well.

God of War: Ascension

Last week, Sony has announced the PlayStation 3's big anticipated "God of War: Ascension", making it the seventh title in the God of War long-running franchise. The game is based off of ancient mythology and Greek Gods walking among the Earth. A multiplayer feature is added to the franchise, as well as co-op, and "Horde Mode".

PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale

Experience a four-way Playstation exclusive brawl in Sony's Playstation All-Stars: Battle Royale. A ton of characters throughout PlayStation history are being added to the title, such as Twisted Metal's Sweet Tooth, Parappa the Rappa, Sly Cooper, Uncharted's Nathan Drake, Killzone's Mael Radec, Fat Princes, God of War's Kratos, and many more. Further information about this game will possibly be announced during E3.

More Sony Games

More fun and exciting titles are possible to appear next month, such as LittleBigPlanet Karting and Gravity Rush. In LittleBigPlanet Karting, you have the abilities to customize karts, weapons, and levels, as well as race other Sackpeople, of course! Also, another new title is set to be a big hit, Gravity Rush, play as Kat, a blonde girl with demonic red eyes with gravity controlling super powers, use these powers to save the citizens of Hekseville, and rid of the wrath of Gravity Crow and the evil Nevi.

PlayStaion 4 Console

Even though this announcement is very unlikely, the PlayStation 4, or "Orbis" may be revealed, or give more information regarding it's highly powered software and graphics capibility. It is rumored that the PS4 features AMD's A8-3850 - a quad-core 2.9GHz processor with an integrated APU graphics chip. The console has the specs to display resolutions up to a beautiful 4096x2160. While the PlayStation 3 is capable of displaying 3D titles at 720p, the PlayStation 4 will allow 1080p, maximizing your gaming visuals and experience.

This E3 will be more like Sony vs. Microsoft on what they have to offer in services and next gen games.
