Last time I checked, rap isn't the ability to come up with rhymes off the top of your head. That is a form of rap. Some people are skilled with this, others show no interest in this skill. Therefore, you cannot judge a rap artist on their ability to use a form of rap. Another part of rap is using literary devices (Imagery, metaphors, similes, personification, irony, etc.). Lil Wayne shows that he can successfully use these elements in a way that many artists cannot. He puts his heart and time into the one thing he loves most....rap. As far as I know, currently, Lil Wayne can be considered one of the most hardworking artists of his time. He does not wright his rhymes on paper, using his ability to essentially "think about what he is going to say and then say it right away." No artist that I know has ever released an Album as well as many other songs while behind bars. Ultimately, his hard work pays off. He has recorded and featured on over 3,500 songs in his career. In each of those songs he has given 100% effort. Not only is he rich, but he has been able to show exceptional intelligence. Although he may not fill the shoes of what an average person would call "intelligence," he shows intelligence in his creativity and his ability to go beyond expectations. Every line of his music can be dissected to show many signs of symbolism and other literary elements. For example, in the song "6 Foot 7 Foot" he says, "Bitch real G's move in silence like lasagna." This is pure creativity to me. Of course, most of this is personal opinion and everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

There is no way to judge his effort just because you perceive a song to be well thought out. Your point about symbolism and literary elements is purely stupid because every song in the world can be over analyzed to the point of it containing deep meaningful symbolism when in reality it was not meant to be taken that way. Of course literary elements are going to be found in his songs, here's one that's pretty original that he uses-rhyming. You seem to be praising him for being locked up in jail when he's no better than any other scum bag that got pressed with gun charges, so I didn't realize children were now idolizing felons. Bla bla bla opinions opinions I don't care what you have to say and you don't care what I have to say

1. I was not judging him. No where in my argument did I create an image of him before getting to know him. I only looked at his music through my own perspective.
2. Never did I "praise" him for his jail sentence. I simply said that he worked hard to entertain his fans even when he was retained.
3. I never said that other artists don't use literary elements. I simply said that Lil Wayne's use of the English language is what appeals to his fans, and that he successfully uses literary devices to do so.
4. I do not recall saying, "I am a child that idolizes felons." Like I said before, I find his ability to do what he loves despite all odds a sign of dedication.

Lil wanye has a nursery rhyme style, talent never got him to the level he is at now money payed the way. Its alright that people like his music, there is obviously a market for it. I just don't think its right to call him the best rapper, maybe the best hip-pop artist. (Somebody who makes pop songs over a hip hop beat and then claims there hip hop).

"you really think your rhyming? cause billboard charts say your climbing? Every trend has its timing"
-MC JUICE

Personal I would like to start seeing people with talent getting the multimillion dollar productions to create classic's not labels signing people for there best interest profit wise for the company.

There is nothing wrong with dumbing down your lyrics on a couple tracks to help promote it on the radio, but when you dumb down your whole album for maximum mainstream success you just sold your self out and the culture that made it possible for your career to even exist.

Listen to that, all he can do is look around the room trying to pull lyrics from his ass.

Do you not know what a freestyle is? You're supposed to pull lyrics outta your ass.

Ummmmm yeah I know what a freestyle is. My point is that his lyrics are "Imma dog imma dog imma dog ya" and continue on like that and make no sense. He's just bad at putting rhymes together unless he's sitting in prison or paying people to write them for him
