(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi all.

So i just bought a easycap, 3 Y splitters (2 female to 1 male)

And for some reason the quality is looking like crap, Not just on me computer but tv as well.

I have it set like this...

From PS 3 to splitter, A seconded AV cable from the splitters to my TV, Splitters to the easycap, And easycap into my computer.

these are the splitters bought You must login or register to view this content.

And i was using a 12ft 24k gold AV cable for the seconded split to the tv, But stopped once i discovered that was making it worse.

The AV cable You must login or register to view this content.

Am i a dumb ass? Did i buy the wrong stuff:???:

Can someone help me please.
Just tell me the right stuff to buy.

My tv is a LG 42" HD flat plasma.

Thank you...

You've set it up correctly... I think. Trying changing the video settings on your TV or your PC (after recording). What TV settings are you using? HDMI or S-Video?

I think my settings are just standard, I dont have a S-video input on my tv, And i dont use HDMI..

I was thinking maybe it could be my PS 3 cable, I sold my PS 2 a while back, And i think i sold the cable for my PS 3 instead of the PS 2 one.

No help there, The problem is nothing to do with recording.
It seem to be as soon as i put the first splitter into the easycap, Thats when it starts getting a little bad, And un playable / unwatchable when i plug it into my computer.

OK mate. Sounds like the splitters or cable are faulty.
I have the same EasyCap as you. Try my set up:

1 - Plug all 3 splitters into the TV composite in.

2 - Plug your PS3 cable into the left side of the splitters.

3 - Plug the AV cable into the right side of the splitters and the other end into the EasyCap.

Make sure you have the EasyCap set to NTSC if from USA or Pal if from UK.

If this does not work, it must be a fault with either the EasyCap itself or the splitters/cables.

Hi, Thanks, I was just reading a forum on the PS site about this.
I must say the thought to plug the splitter for the video directly into the TV never crossed my mind..

I tried it and it works great, I even re-tried the 12ft gold AV cable i have that was giving me problems be4, And now it works perfect...

Well not perfect, When i plug the easycap into my computer i get lines moving up the TV screen...

So its not perfect but id say its playable...

Any suggestions on how to clear it up just a little more?

Thanks again.

The lines are electrical interference from near by electricals. Try and keep the cables as far away as you can from them. Also un-plugging and re-plugging the EasyCap sometimes gets rid of them too.

I'm glad it helped you out.

I just discovered that all is good until i put the easycap into my USB port on my computer.

I guess some how the USB port is causing the connection to be less then perfect.

I have everything hocked into the EC now and the pic on my TV is perfect, But as soon as i put in in my USB port..... Well im getting a new computer next week anyway so maybe my new computer will be better for it.

Thanks all.
