Making this thread on a serious note, I'd like to share something with you all.

I logged on today, and was greeted with a PM:



Since I'm so self absorbed, I think: "hey, I am famous, let me see what this guy is talking about!"

So I open his PM thinking nothing about it, (he wasn't banned then) and clicked the link he sent:



So it basically opens up a page, with a monkey on it, and it said "your IP: ___________ has been sent to the person who linked you to this site"

So I Immediately contacted a mod and told him about it. Then about an hour or two later, I get this message from the same person:

So, I contacted a Mod, and got his account banned. Yes, believe it or not NGT is STILL butthurt over getting demoted, and now he's out to relieve the stress of his mid life crisis on a bunch of children on the internet.

Now, I wanted to show you all this to warn you all, don't open any sketchy links from anyone you don't talk to regularly, and be cautious.

Even with my IP, he can't do anything to me, since it is a Dynamic IP.

So NGT, this one is for you, because I know your lonely ass is reading this:

Now, I want to show you guys how easy it is for him to get your IP. He can't really do anything to you with your IP, but I'm making this just so you all know.

Now, in order to avoid being a dumbass like I was, you have to think like a 2337 hax9r in order to avoid being 1337 haX3d.

Think about it from a different viewpoint. If I was going to try and hack someone, or get their IP, I'd have to get them to click a link. Now, what would be the easiest way to get someone on NGU to open my link?

Quote Notifications.

I know whenever I get one, I immediately open it up, and click the little button to redirect me to the post, without reading it at all. Now NGT may not use this method, but this is by far the sneakiest way to do it. Using this, he could also set up a fake page to phish accounts.

All he would have to do is stage the PM to look like a quote notification, like so:

To view the post where you were quoted, click .

notice how I made the "here" redirect button link to google. All he would have to do is link you to his monkey shit, and he would have your IP in a hearbeat.

So in order to avoid this, Please, Please PLEASE read where the link is taking you BEFORE you click it!

HOVER OVER THE LINK, and it should tell you where it's redirecting to at the bottom of your browser, like so:



If it isn't telling you, right click the link and hit properties.

If that link is sending you anywhere but NextGenUpdate, DO NOT CLICK IT

Please guys, be safe, I know it sounds corny, but do you really want some half a century old man who can't satisfy his wife, knowing your IP address? I know I don't.

Even though he can't do anything to you, it's all just scare tactics. So, don't fall for it!

I don't know if it was his account from the beginning, but he definitely got him.

Hm, he might've keylogged him somehow & got ahold of his account & used it to get to the people he wanted revenge on...
