(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey NGU, I just thought I would share an easy way for most of us to make money. This weekend I am getting re-certified as a Grade 8 soccer referee. I wouldn't post this if it was just any job, but the cool part is you can start working at 12 for $15 a game (where I live) as a Grade 9 ref, which means you can ref up to 16 year olds. If you're 14 and older, you can ref as a Grade 8 ref, and earn $30 a game, and ref whatever age group you want.

The trick to making money doing this is to ref little kids, whose games are about an hour long, with Grade 8 certification, which then turns out to about $30 an hour, 4x minimum wage where I live, and possible 2 years before the legal working age. Winky Winky

All you have to do is pay a $70 registration fee, and take a 16 hour course which takes 3 days, and you're good to sign up for games you want to ref. The main soccer seasons are Fall and Spring. Last year, I would do 4 little girls games on Saturday and Sunday mornings from like 8-12, make $120 each day (and still have time to hang out), do a few tournaments during breaks, and on a couple weekday nights do 7-8:30 games.

If you live in North Texas, go to ntxsoccer.org, and sign up there. If not, contact your local soccer league or rec center and ask for info. I googled it, and it says the age requirement and pay I posted is pretty much average around the U.S.

Just thought I'd help some of the younger members on here out. Even if you're an adult, you can still do this. My friends dad got certified with his son and me, now he just refs Saturday mornings or whenever he wants to make an easy $30. You make your $70 fee back in no time, you need a 75% on the test to pass, if you fail 70-75% you can retake it again for free, if you fail less then 70% you can either get your money back or keep retrying to get certified as many times as you want. The deadline for signups for the Fall season is September 1st, giving you all about a month if you're interested. And once you get certified once, every year you just take a 5 hour refresher course to get re-certified for another year.

My friend who works at Carl's Jr. making $7.50 an hour gets $150 minus all the taxes and stuff, for a 20 hour work week (the most hours you can legally work Part-Time as a student), which I can get in 5 hours of reffing. I'm just saying, give this a chance guys. It's a pretty easy job, and you can start as early as 12 years old. Thanks for your time. Smile

A few of my friends referee games, it is a very good way of making quick cash, but you can only do it a few times a week, and not year long.
But thanks for the tip :y:

Yeah, it's mainly for Fall and Spring. August-November and February-May, I made some pretty good money last year, cause it was when the main leagues play or whatever.

When I ref'd box lacrosse, I got 25$ a game plus a bonus at 5 games (50 dollars), 15 games ($500), and a at 25 games (1000$). Easiest job ever... (And who doesn't like bonuses =D) You could move up age groups through the years and possibly make 40 - 50 bucks a game Winky Winky
