(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); The Liberal Democrats have taken a surprising move to legalize specifically cannabis and make all other personal illegal drugs become decriminalized within the UK.

The party will later vote on these plans, it is expected that members will agree to them. These plans will then become apart of the parties policy and what they will ultimately then stand for. Making the plans become that step closer to a reality.

Described in the plans is the setting up of a government regulated cannabis market. Cannabis would become completely legal substance specifying that, "Possession of any controlled drug for personal use would not be a criminal offence."

There is obviously though, unfortunately many against the plans. Including the two big parties; Labour and the Conservatives. Standing by their own policies that cannabis contains "psychotic properties". No statements about other personal drugs have been issued yet, but the bets are on they will be against the changes.

If you don't at all keep up with politics, then this is an significant movement because the liberal democrats are in a coalition with the conservatives. They both share power, so the liberal democrats can have say in how the country is governed and influence the conservatives.

So what do you think? If the legalization of cannabis and other drugs a good move for the Liberal Democrats to take? Or are you against the changes?

I agree with them, but nothing's going to happen, Clegg's too much of a fag.

It is always better to have a major party obviously supporting the legalization of drugs though. It is of course better than nothing at all. I think also they will attract a lot of younger voters to them too. So even if they just change their policies and it gets rejected, there is still hope to vote for them, for they can get in full power. It's a shame they didn't stick to their education policies as that really let many down. So perhaps this is just a con to get popular again?

Daddy's home.
It won't happen. The Lib Dems are tiny compared to the conservatives. Look who is calling the shots now, even though they are "shared" power. Not the Lib Dems.

I can never see it happening but cannabis should be treated as it presently is in Holland, sold in certain outlets and for personnel use only, this would contribute massively to the tax system and would probably be cheaper than todays ridiculous prices. Drugs such as crack and heroin should never be declassified, in fact I would create a new class where users of these drugs are quietly disposed of, thus saving us millions feeding and housing those junkie scum !!!

Weed should be legal.

But, I said no. Crack, coke, meth, heroin, etc... shouldn't be.
