(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Guys, I was wondering if any of you guys have any tips on how to build upper body strength for a teen.

I am 14 years old (15 in october) about 6 foot tall im not fat I just want to try and build some upper body strength.

Obvious answers are push ups, pull ups (can not do in my house nothing to do it on), possibly sit ups?

Any help would be much appreciated.

To do those things you mentioned above, would need upper body strength. I would like some tips too, I don't wanna feel like a fat bastard who can't do push-ups :(

I have almost none right now :\ I can do 10 pushups at very most then feel to tired. Sit ups are quite easy, do some, if you have to stop do for 10-20 seconds then start again what i do some nights

Sit ups arent going to do much for your upper body. unless you consider abs upper body. I dont. :P You should just lift weights. and do push ups. Alot of push ups. Do as many as you can in one set everyday. Eventually. You will notice that the numbers will slowly rise. At least for me. Happy

Sit ups only do abs, but i would suggest lifting weight. They dont have to be heavy, just like 10 pound weights.

Use textbooks. and you shouldn't be embarassed. See if they will get you a gym membership Smile

The best way when lifting is not to lift too heavy, but a wieght that you can lift with perfect technique. Very slow and good technique will help you the most :y:

No text books, I might just ask to buy some weights, like hand ones. I know im not a strong person but my right arm is a lot better then my left and if they are un even it is really weird, I know since you use one all the time one will be a big stronger but i want to try build muscle.

Balanced diet, lift weights and try to mix up your workouts. There are lots of different upper-body workouts you can do. It's really as simple as that, maybe get some protein if you want to go a bit further but you shouldn't need it.
