to all the footbal players out there you will understand, I was a football player for all four years of high school for this school, all state half back, every friday night we would begin with a prayer that basically said the same thing each week to watch over both teams and the fans to ensure there well being and so on, then a formal prayer over the loud speaker would follow
i wont go into it all to much because of some non believers, but i will say that this story linked below is utter bs, i graduated in 2009

This is one of the most controversial issues regarding the First Amendment's prohibition of the establishment of freedom of religion in public schools. The government probably did this through the arguments of how government intends to assist one religion more than the other, which isn't constitutional. However, if that is the case, then public religious belief to-lets say-Satan should be permitted as well. That wouldn't fair well. By keeping religious belief at minimal level, the negative costs would be leveled as well. Of course, there is nothing wrong with public religious belief, but the government always predict the worst and make decisions to prevent it.

its stupid shit we are basically a small town and on a Friday night 3/4 of the city is at the stadium and no one will say anything till the prayer ends
but apparently a new foreign student does agree with it and reported it now the players cant even pray in the locker room out loud
if they wouldve done this to our team we wouldve been devastated

Schools don't get into religion completely understandable.

here are the facts
around 96% of my community supported it
about 3.99% didnt agree but they put up with it for respect reasons
but that .1 was enough to end a 50+ year tradition

wrong it was a person that transferred there that friday that complained cause they moved from a school that didnt pray although they wont come forward everyone knows who it was.
