I know it's just a video, but I thought it would set off a better discussion here. This gave me the chills. The baffled, blank look on the faces of the policemen said everything. It was like they knew the marine was right, but didn't have the courage to agree. Anyways, watch this if you haven't already seen this and tell me what you think.

More and more I've come to consider the police to be nothing more than a government sanctioned gang. There are gangs everywhere, the police are just one of them, no different than the damn mafia. They do what they want, they enforce whatever rules they choose to enforce and stick up for each other first and foremost. There's nothing that proves this better than the east-end gangs of London. Sure the East-end Gangsters where complete cĂșnts, but they where efficient and they kept order. The police got rid of them and now there are little petty gangs, robberies, muggings, increases in drug crimes, street violence... this wasn't the case when the gangs where there, why? Because everyone was too scared to piss off the wrong guy.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm no apologetic to organised crime, but police are no different than mafia, traid, yak or cartel... except of course, the government works with the police, not against them, and that makes them all that more dangerous. If a day comes when the police actually protect people and serve their community, I'll gladly take this back, but at the moment, all the police is, is a socially acceptable organised crime syndicate.

As much as I support OWS and the Occupy movement, this guy overreacted and should have been arrested for public disturbance. These cops were doing nothing wrong, and even if they were, shouting and abusing them is the wrong forum of making a comment of their behaviour.

No. Simple as that. There are a few bad cops around, but most are good. Not every frickin cop in the Occupy movement is a 'mafia enforcer'. Imagine going to work and knowing hundreds of people are going to shout and slander you. And after you get home, you see this shit. Hierarchy in the police force is everything, if you are a bottom level cop, and a detective says you to arrest someone, would you argue with him?

Now don't get me wrong, there are bad cops. But they are in the minority. We don't hear about good cops because who cares? People only care about controversial cops who do bad shit. There are unsung cops who said to people calmly "Excuse me please move back to the curb, thanyou" and were standing with their arms behind their back standing there peacefully doing their job. But saying shit like that is unacceptable.

I'm sorry but I disagree with your premise here. In my experience police are never there when you need them, they're never working for the community, they're looking for their next arrests and it'll take anything to get it. Now, I've been lucky, I've never been in trouble with the police because I don't break the law but you don't have to. My dad was once arrested for being "drunk and disorderly" because he was staggering home drunk after a friends 40th birthday party. Was he drunk, hell yes, but he was walking home nothing more. What did they do, they pulled up, offered him a lift home, he agreed and thanked them... the police drove him past our house and continued to the station where they kept him in the cells overnight and charged him with "drunk and disorderly". This is just an example of what the police are like. They're the only people where a casual swear-word when you're talking to them could be enough to get you locked up. You may say there are "good cops" but I have NEVER seen them. I've seen them oppressing people, harassing people, accusing people of being criminals just for looking at them, but helping the people they're supposed to "protect and serve", hell no.

You want to convince me there are good police, it'll take more than a photo of one of them being nice once. You should easily find a photo of a Mafioso doing the same, it's meaningless. I'm talking big picture and in the big picture the so called good cop is far outnumbered by the guy on a power trip, and that's the sad truth.

My point pretty much. I agree that the police are a gang man, and it's the sad truth. Since the government backs the police and law enforcement, they have the right to **** the general population over. What I can't stand is the way the government or the police act like they own this country. It's complete bullshit, this idea of possession and having control makes those asshole so damn egotistic. I can rant about that all day, but that's a completely different argument. The police do what ever the **** they want, or what ever the **** who ever in the higher ranks demand them to do.

Overreacted? If anything, he should have done more. Where I'm from, I hear too and see too much of these 'bad cops' so it's hard for me to accept that these pigs have even the slightest bit of decency in them. How are the cops doing nothing wrong? What you didn't see in this video was the cops beating unarmed and innocent civilians. The marine was simply standing up for them, and I completely agree with him. The people are rebelling because they are being treated unjustly. I admire our population for the rebellions because without such spirits, we will continue to get ****ed by the 'higher authority' -- which again I believe is a bullshit idea. Just recently, haven't the idiotic police just shot a number of endangered bengali tigers? Shot to death I mean, whereas a tranquilizer would have had the same effect and they could have securely returned the animals to their place. But nooooo, let's just shoot and kill them, right? Well, at least that's what their mind state is. Another story over here that happened recently was the police senselessly beating a homeless guy to death... There are too many examples of how shitty cops are over here and I can't with a clear conscience agree with your views until I see some clear change.

Yes. He said they were c u n t s. I agree, they are. If only they were here to stop crime, lmao. Good one. They are waaaay too busy over here busting kids smoking weed rather than stopping true crime. Also, how is calling the cops a c u n t considered racial discrimination? Calling them niiiiggers or something could be considered as such, but I think c u n t is a beautiful word to generalize those pigs.
