I honestly think it is both. Yes it is cowardly because you are running away from your problems by just giving up and taking your life, and no because you have to have a lot of courage to take your own life. It's a very selfish thing to do though.

Side-note: Not I am not suicidal :b My life is great right now, I'm just curious on what other people think about the subject. Upside Down Happy

It's their life, if they want to choose to end it then it's their decision. I mean I would never do it but yeah.

Even though it's their life, they still affect other people's life. It's a very selfish and cowardly thing to do if you don't feel like facing your problems. Then again, you must have the actual guts to take your own life.

Depends on the situation, what about people who take their own life because there is no in their life who cares anymore?

Then that makes them a coward for just giving up and not trying to make new friends and family. They can always restart.

"I will speak ill of
As speaking as one who was in a deep state of depression and had several suicidal thoughts come into my mind that were hard to get out, I will say it is not the cowards way out. Trust me, the state you are in is terrible. Nothing seems to matter, all you feel is pain constantly, and nothing can make it stop.

Having to look in the mirror to then think about ways you could end it all. Starting over seems impossible or just pointless. In fact, I have never been in more pain than then. I've sat in the bathroom to just sit and cry for over an hour. Just laying in bed. Looking at don't kill yourself sites. It's purely awful.

Both. If you have nothing to live for, no family left, your friends have moved away, your stuck in a dead end job. You may see no need to live as you dont have a cause, this is when i would say it is not a cowards way out.

But it is a cowards way out for when things have just gone bad, like if you lost a large sum of money or your partner left you. Then you feel as if it has all gone when it in fact hasnt, not like the above scenario when you have in fact nothing left to live for.

I hope i have justified my point well but if i havent i know how i feel its just a hard topic to explain in my opinion

I think stating there cowardly is extremely harsh; You can't judge, because you've never been there, you can't compare your life to theres. Your stress is different to there's. If you lost all your family members before the age of 21, and your the only family member left, No friends or family left; What would you do? How would you carry on in life, considering everything around you has failed.

Very very harsh to call someone a coward.

This question is so extraordinarily subjective I can't respect anyone who thinks that either yes or no are valid answers.
