This $15 Million Super-Yacht Is Controlled Using An iPad [IMAGES]
April 14th, 2012
The iPad can do alot of things, right? Play music, browse the web, play games, control a $15 million dollar yacht, play video... Wait, WHAT?
Yes, you read correct. You probably think this is being made up, but take a look at the yacht:
According to the , the boat is opperated by a remote control that works up to 50 meters away. That remote control is the iPad, Apple's popular tablet. You may even be reading this story on an iPad. The boat is an amazing peice of architecture, designed in China by John Shuttleworth, and owned by shipping billionaire Anto Marden.
My mind is really blown by the fact that the household iPad is being used to control millions of dollars of marine equipment. The people working behind this must be confident in the iPad to be a relaible controller. If it were me, I wouldn't be taking the chance. With that being said, it reflects how powerful these tablets are getting, and there is almost no limit to what they could do in the future.
Anyway, feel free to take a look at the where you can see the yacht's specifications like maximum speed and height.
Thanks for readingSource:
