I agree. People are born into this delusion where they think just because they're born in a specific place it makes it the best. Supporting your country is one thing, but ignorance is another.
Very true. Patriotism is inherently flawed and although I'm fond of my country that's merely because I'm used to it and the customs here, and I shan't mindlessly shout from the rooftops how great it is and neither shall I give my life for it(quick note: there's a difference between fighting for your country and fighting for freedom which your country is defending -- oh, and going into other countries unnecessarily declaring war isn't defending, it's attacking).
I get ever so slightly sad when I see somebody waving a national flag. What exactly are you proud of? You did nothing yourself and the country you're proud of has so many flaws, too. This goes for every country in the world.
"First step in solving a problem is realising there is one" If you take anything away from this video it should be that. I quiet often get called pessimistic because of my world views, but unless you look at the problems honestly, you're never going to solve anything. It's about time people took their heads out of their arse and learned to look at things logically and objectively.
