What are your thoughts on it?

A few points to consider:

Pros:
-It certainly saves a lot of money and resources. Extremely cheap to mercykill someone, however, it takes thousands to maintain life.
-If the patient is in extreme pain, this method is definitely a good way to relieve them of it.

Cons:
-Ironic and immoral for doctors to be involved in a patients death. Additionally, doctors' performance is bound to be affected after committing the act of killing the another human being.
-Relieving pain or not, eathanasia is (arguably) still murder.
-If it is legalized and becomes more popular and a widespread practice, hospitals and other medical facilities are bound to use it as an excuse to save money

Euthanasia is illegal in most parts of the world, and only legalized in a couple of states in the US (not entirely sure, don't live in the US)

Well, I think euthanasia is valid when the patient is in a terminal phase of an illness where even the doctors say is hopeless and the patient is suffering from pain or even is in a vegetative state (causing many expenses to the family and suffering) So if doctors say the person is no longer able to leave some of this vegetative state and that the person is suffering with it, I think the most humane solution is euthanasia to shorten the suffering.

But this is just my opinion.

Well really it happens all the time. People who are kept on life support are either given the choice to continue or to pull the plug. Personally I don't think a doctor should be forced to do it if he/she does not want to. I believe that as long as there is a doctor willing to perform it, there's no issue. I do believe however, that this is a personal choice and is unnecessary. Therefore I do not believe that it should be covered publicly by healthcare. (Depending on where you live that is)

I worded it weirdly. I mean that the family has the choice to either kill him/her or to let him/her sit on life support.

And for the most part euthanasia is a personal choice. They are the ones who say that I would like to die rather than sit and die from whatever horrible disease they are suffering from.

Like my friends dad has cancer and they know hes guna die soon. I went over to his house last week just to pick him up and i didnt even notice his dad. Hes basically bed ridden and you can tell hes in sooo much pain. Like this is one of the times where if he was in a hospital where euthanasia might be an option. And i only say this because each day is full of pain...
