(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello NGU, I'm looking for your guys help. I seem to procrastinate everything and it is sort of taking over my life in a way by adding a lot of stress to it and sometimes it causes me to be very overwhelmed.

So I was wondering if any of you suffer or have suffered from procrastination and if you did how did you get this awful habit? And before someone says "You just have to have a strong willpower." I usually have a very strong will power when it comes to being disciplined with cutting weight and other things but I can't see to overcome this.

Thanks in advance,
iZigg

Divide your work up into bits and work on it every day for a certain amount of time. This way, you will have time to yourself everyday and still be completing a decent amount of work. At least, that's what I would do. :p

One way I solved it was by listening to music and doing whatever the work was. It works perfectly!

I can vouch for music. It helps calm down and get pieces of work done.

To and fro the island.
It really just comes down to self-discipline. When you have something to do, you should simply be able to mobilize yourself to complete the task at hand. Obviously, it isn't always that easy. Some things that have helped me:

Listen to music. Music is a pretty helpful tool in terms of changing your mood and altering your motivation. I myself am somewhat fearful of the effects music can have on the mind, but there's no arguing that it can alter someone's frame of mind.

Find interest. The reason people procrastinate is because they don't want to do something. High-school students often procrastinate because they find the subjects they're studying to be dull. The remedy? Find ways to actually make what you're learning interesting. For many, it comes down to simply sitting down and thinking about the importance of the work you're doing. You can find some source of importance in nearly everything you do, and it can make everything more enjoyable and fulfilling.

I try and write down everything I need to do and break it up into times that I must have the task completed.

This works well for when I write a program.

Say I need to have A B and C classes written.

I will say that A will take one hour, B will take 3 hours and C will take 30 minutes.

I have 8 hours to get it done.

I will say to have A completed before I take a break. I will only focus on what I need to do expecting the break. Once the break is there I can then move over to B or take a break for an hour and then get started on B knowing that I must get it done and when I get it done, I have another break.

by the time A and B is done, I should be on a roll and then just knock C out of the game right after.

It takes time but you have to actually set your mind forth towards the goal. Thinking about relaxing now and then rushing later or rushing now and relaxing later is the idea.
