It's been awhile.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I woke up today, made some cocoa puffs and turned on the TV to find out that there was a shooting at an elementary school.

I've been seeing a lot of fucked up shit lately, what could possibly make someone do something this insane? Why is it that when you lose your mind you kill? Why can't you do something else? Why does it always end up in death? What could be the motive? What drives people to the point where they hurt innocent children? Fucked up world we live in.

I can't imagine losing a child, especially at school, where it's supposed to a safe environment.

Fuck that.
I'd hate to be a Parent of a child lost in that... Imagine not being able to see your child grow up and to live. :(

Nothing like this has ever happened in the UK, I suggest America does something about it's Gun Laws.

If it was easy or not they still would've got their hands on the weapons. Marijuana is illegal but I get my hands on it every weekend. It's not the guns, it's the lunatics that have the guns.

Although this is a horrible thing that happened, I don't think it'll matter if they change the gun laws or not. Drugs are illegal and people still do them, so what is the difference for guns? Hopefully the families that lost a child or even an educator can hopefully get through this.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd here come the gun haters.

People, you have the freedom and liberty to go out on the street and you might get hit by a car, should we ban cars while we're at it? People should know that they are in danger 24/7 and the danger of death is ever present. Death is part of life and as humans we need to understand that we can die literally at any time during the day. Guns are a right of the people, taking them away is not going to make anyone safer, it will only make it harder to defend themselves when this does actually occur. Obviously in this case the shooter picked one of the most peaceful environments he could find, a school.

I feel extremely bad about what has happened here, and I realize that this is something that should not have happened in the first place, but people need to remain consistent. If you want to remove weapons from the people you must remove cars, alcohol, drugs, knives, spoons and everything that can harm a person.

I've said this before, but the morality of the people has to change, not the system itself. Guns are meant to be used to protect people, and it's obvious that some people should not be using firearms. The guidelines are pretty strict when it comes to obtaining firearms. There is a background check and you must have your drivers license or ID card. Then you must take a handgun safety test which you can only take twice (It's probably different in different states).

Please don't take this the wrong way, this was awful. It's obvious that the person who did this was not in their correct mental state when this happened. My condolences go out to all of the people affected by this.

*face palm* Oh my God, are you some kind of retard? A quick Google search will give you the results stating otherwise... Do not blame the damn gun laws, if you want a gun, you can get a gun, it's easy, I'm sure I can get it quite easily in the UK as well. The gun laws are fine, do not let a bad apple ruin it for the rest of the millions of law abiding citizens with guns. There will always be sick people like this who commits crimes and no amount of law will prevent that. You don't see us banning our modes of transportation when they kill more people per year then guns... But whatever, someone from the UK just can't understand our right to bear arms and always tries to belittle us by any means. Yes we have our problems, but you are not without your own.

Thank you! It is good to see someone who is acknowledging a deeper issue and not blaming the tool. And while I know you were trying to make a point about banning guns, alcohol drugs and cars it wouldn't matter... People would make bombs and we would be dealing with potentially a lot larger tragedy.

This is a tragedy. I can't imagine what would make you think "These kids want to hurt me, so I will kill them". I honestly believe we will NEVER understand. As for gun laws, I like them the way they are. Just because 1 person (just talking about today's actions, not over the past 6 months) lost his mind and went on a killing spree doesn't mean you can punish all of America by changing its gun laws. People have absolutely NO RESPECT for guns. If they did, there would be no deaths from firearms in the US. Alcohol, drugs, and non-firearm crimes all rank above firearm crimes in terms of those killed. My deepest sympathies and prayers go out to everyone who lost someone they love. Things like this make me cry. Its hard not to. What people need to understand is there is no way to prevent this. This was an obvious psychological break in this shooter. I believe it started at his house (or his mom's house) where police found another body, and then it continued to the school. Even then, (for those faint of heart do NOT read the next line). I can understand killing one person if you honestly thought they needed to die. Like killing a mass murderer, but killing your own mother, a teacher, then proceeding to pull the trigger on anything that moves. Reload, and do it all again? Then when you ran out of people to shoot, you go to another room? The fact that these victims were between 5-10 is just heart breaking. I will NEVER understand what drives a person to this. Again my deepest sympathies and prayers to those affected by this tragedy.
