I would like your opinion on illegal immigration? I would like to see mature comments only.

My current opinion is that many illegal immigrants should learn that the correct way to enter the US is by going through the legal process that many legal migrants go through. It really hurts other people who have to wait years before gaining citizenship.

My other opinion is that some American's should stop being racist. Racism isn't a way of dealing with illegal immigration. Racism leads to other problems and issues that aren't necessary.

I'm entitled to my opinions so please do not judge/criticize my opinion.

Thank You,

Just a heads up you're most likely not going to get any mature comments unless it's in intellectual discussion. But I'm going to opine regardless. I agree with you 100% on illegal immigration. It isn't fair for the people who are doing it the correct way when you have people entering illegally. And amnesty isn't the correct way about going about it. Obviously if someone is here illegally and is discovered they usually get deported and come right back across the border again. While in the process of deporting them, have them visit the nearest USCIS and get information about becoming a citizen etc then send them back to wherever they maybe from(usually Mexico).

Then once they're confident enough they can follow the procedures to become a legal US citizen without cutting in line. The system is fine for becoming a citizen. It's just dodged too much, and racism isn't the way to solve the problem.

I agree with you, before all illegal immigrants are deported, they should be giving some information regarding a way to become a legal US citizen. I also believe they should speed up the time it takes to accept applications. There are some legitimate cases where mothers want to give their families a better life.

It's an extremely complex issue and your question/opinion is in the most simple of terms.
It's easy to say just stop letting them in and round up those here, educate them on the process and send them back.
Are current citizens ready to pay the costs that stopping it will cost?
From stopping entry to increased labor costs in agriculture, construction and many other labor sensitive industries.
Do we uproot families that have been here for 20 yrs and kids that have grown up here?

We must control entry to the US.
We must gradually change industries that rely on cheap labor, that current citizens don't want to do.
We must discourage employers from using illegal workers.
We must find a fair way to deal with those that are here now and were encouraged to come by our own fault.

But make no mistake, our own immigration policy mistakes if the past are going to cost US a fortune to correct.
In both fianclal and moral capital.
