Ich liebe NGU!
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); It's been a long time since NGU was on vBulletin 3, and while I don't come here often, I do like to stop by every now and again. Just wanted to praise all of the active members, and of course the past and present staff, for their work done on the site. It looks absolutely fantastic and far more professional than it had looked in the past.

If you weren't around in early 2011, here's what the site looked like, and what every member had to deal with:

You must login or register to view this content.

You must login or register to view this content.

You must login or register to view this content.

You must login or register to view this content.

Gone are those days, when there was a LOT more ridiculous drama than there is now.

I know that because I have a whopping 106 posts and virtually no rep, my opinion doesn't mean much, but as a fellow forum administrator, I have to say, Outsider/Travis, beautiful job with this thing, and I hope I'm around when we finally reach our LONG-awaited goal of 1,000,000 registered members.

Site is 5 years old been shaped by a number of dedicated volunteers the work done is amazing. You may not be around at the start but even at your short time on this site massive changes have happened. Hell massive changes for me been here for 3 years. Just think what it must be like for people who have older join dates.
A lot of dedicated staff members over the years and more to come.

Current site look is pretty professional compared to the old VB skins we had.

We come a long way Smile

Agreed. When I first joined here, there were a lot of foreign users, and a lot of kids, which means a lot of testosterone, so the place was pretty hostile, but now, it's a nice community to relax in and it's very professional.

vB4 is so much better, I am not fond of the elite skin though, even though it is a better choice. 2010 skin was best.

Early 2011 was full of drama, the March revolt, no homepage, Shiver guesting himself.
Have to say that Travis has been much more active since then and there have been many good changes to the site.
But you are using the magic word in your thread, "professional" is the key word nowadays..

Fuck professionalism, forums are supposed to be a fun place to go and communicate with other members based upon common interest. Unless we were selling some huge product and were the byproduct of that, professionalism isn't exactly needed.

A clean well developed site is something I root for but to aim for professionalism makes it sound like a business.

It certainly was. I still cannot believe shiver just deleted his account. It's nice to have the owner around though. Always bothers me a bit when the owner isn't around.
