Knocks me sick. Why not spend like 10k on her funeral, and put the rest into helping people get jobs, finding homes for homeless people and helping the elderly? People who blame 'immigrants' piss me off too. Atleast they're working hard for shitty pay while the government claim expensis that they DO NOT need. /rant

I thought the money was put into making a park ( Seems more like an amusement park) under her name? In any case I doubt she would've wanted that plus she has been named "The Diana of Chicago" I mean yeah it's wrong to spend millions on one thing but people respected her and she should have something under her name just not this expensive :p

I do agree that it's ridiculous how this funeral was being funded using tax dollars, $5.6 million dollars to be exact. Those $5.6 million could have been spent on tax cuts, I agree the funeral costs are ridiculous and the funeral should have been privatized. But the thing is that she was a political icon, and while a lot of politically and economically illiterate people hate her, she will be missed.

In the big picture, the government had $5.38 trillion in revenue this year. Millions here and there make no difference at all. The government shouldn't have to help people, that's their problem.
