I'm not sure if these are only on Netflix UK, but here's a list of some good films/shows/document I'd recommend to you all. I'm only including films/shows I've seen on Netflix, there are plenty of other good shows on Netflix like Kill Bill and Requiem for a Dream but I didn't watch those on Netflix :p.
Documentaries
Exit through the gift shop: Filmmaker Thierry Guetta's project to chronicle the underground world of street art takes a fascinating twist when he meets stencil artist Banksy.
Really good documentary, with a good twist at the end - its not what you would have expected.
Indie Game: This captivating documentary follows several indie game designers as they painstakingly develop their games and hope for breakthrough success.
Appropriate for NGU, this is worth a watch. I'm not really into video gaming that much these days and I enjoyed this.
Shows/Dramas
House of Cards: A ruthless Congressman, Francis Underwood, will stop at nothing to conquer everything in this wicked political drama about power, sex, love and greed.
Really good show, as I'm sure you've heard, but it's definitely up there with the best American TV dramas and I wouldn't miss it.
Dexter: Mild-mannered Dexter works for the police department as a blood-splatter analyst but moonlights as a murderer who only targets other killers.
Personally I don't think it's as good as the likes of Breaking Bad and GoT, but it's still worth watching - good show.
Breaking Bad: A high school chemistry teacher dying of cancer teams with a former student to manufacture and sell crystal meth to secure his family's future.
Need I say anything? Really good show.
Prison Break: When his brother is wrongly convicted of murder, an engineer resolves to bust his sibling out of the notorious Fox River Penitentiary.
The last couple seasons aren't the best, but the first two were two of the best there have been - great watch.
24: Each season of this action thriller follows 24 hours -- filmed in real time -- in the life of a special agent who thwarts national security threats.
As with the above, it winds down a little towards the last few seasons, getting a bit repetitive, but a great first few seasons with Sutherland carrying the show.
Da Ali G Show: Ali G leaves his Staines posse behind and goes global, keeping it real all around the world. And Borat Sagdiyev, Kazakhstan's sixth most famous man, embarks on a unique cultural voyage of discovery around the UK.
If you like Borat or Bruno, you'll love this. I would argue it's perhaps better than the Hollywood movies.
Heroes: This groundbreaking sci-fi drama intertwines the stories of a disparate group of people who suddenly discover they possess superhuman abilities.
Really good TV series, up there with the best. Don't miss it.
Movies
Hard Candy: Suspecting that the older man she's been chatting with online is a pedophile, 14-year-old Haley plans to meet him in person and teach him a lesson.
Really good, unusual thriller.
Shooter: An expert marksman is coaxed out of seclusion by colleagues who need his help to stop a plot to kill the president, but he gets framed for the crime.
Good thriller, not great. If you like to watch movies and struggle to find good ones to watch, watch it.
Snatch: A gangster transporting a stolen gem inadvertently triggers a slew of events that wends through the worlds of bookies, bare-knuckle boxing and swine.
Really good film, drama (I guess?) with plenty of comedy.
Safe: A former cage fighter's rescue of an abducted 12-year-old girl pits them both against Triad gangs, the Russian Mafia and a bunch of corrupt cops.
You can't go wrong with Stathman and this is one of his better movies.
Battle Royale: The Japanese government introduces a system whereby randomly chosen schoolchildren are taken to an island and forced to fight each other to the death.
The film the Hunger Games book series copied? Perhaps. I'm not sure if I would consider it as good or better, but its definitely worth watching. It's a Japanese movie so you know they're not going to tame down the gore.
Headhunter: A corporate recruiter steals artwork to maintain his lavish lifestyle. But one painting he targets belongs to a headhunter of a different kind.
One of the best movies I've seen on Netflix. From the description you wouldn't imagine so but it was a really good film.
Tell No One: Dr. Alexandre Beck was the prime suspect in his wife's murder eight years before, and when two bodies turn up near his home, suspicions are renewed.
Good French thriller, worth a watch.
I'm going to come back to this later because I have so many more great films I've seen on Netflix but I just don't have the time to go through them now. Leave a comment below with some good Netflix movies/shows you've seen.
