Yes, the engine sound changes (except for the BRZ, which has no engine noise after a turbo engine swap), but the turbo noise doesn't transfer over. It only gets added if you add an aftermarket turbo in the game. However, the cars I swapped the engines into cannot have turbos fitted in the game. I happen to know, however, that the turbo/supercharger noise is a seperate file from the actual turbo. Seeing the code entry spaces with only numbers on the GT5 Editor led me to believe that one of those was for sound files. I guess that, from your response, that was not the case.

Now, would it also be possible to have codes for the aftermarket parts, because there are entry points for those parts on the editor, but since all of the swap parts are from stock cars, they are not able to be filled without manual code input. Hope you can help, and keep up the good work. I have no complaints with this; its very easy to use (coming from someone who knows almost nothing about hex/hacking)!

oops. motor = engine, but you've figured that out Happy

To add a Turbo to a car that normally doesn't allow Turbos, it's not enough to add the part-number of the Turbo from another car. There is another byte that has to be changed, but I believe it's not adjustable in the Garage Editor right now. Although you can insert a Turbo with the part-number from another car, GT5 won't recognize it and won't even display the gauge for it.

If you are familiar with a hex editor and editing your car on this level:

You must login or register to view this content.,

it would be the byte @ 0x38 that has to be changed to:

None=0x00
Standard (if available)=0x01
Stage1=0x03
Stage2=0x05
Stage3=0x09

Good Luck with it Winky Winky

*edit*

To generate a list of all possible aftermarket part numbers would take a tremendous effort in time. Every car has it's own part number for nearly everything (engine, chassis, turbo, supercharger, whatnot). To come up with a list of every possible part for every possible car, is more than time-consuming Winky Winky

Is there a way to extend the duration of a battery in an electric car in this game? I swapped a Leaf motor into my I-MiEV, and the battery drains within 1 lap of the Nurburgring 24 hour course. Is there a line of hex code I could edit to extend the life of my I-MiEV? I enjoy running this thing online, but the dang battery is hampering my fun with it.

Thanks. I figured I would need to go with a hex editor. Well, to the YouTube tutorials, I go.

Yea, don't worry about this; more of a wish list than an actual request, really. Just thought there was no harm in at least asking.
