Not sure but I think once you edit the car if you go into like LSC you can just buy a horn or something like that then try putting it into your garage.

I did that, but I didn't try putting it into my garage after.. Worth a shot i guess. One thing I do notice is the donor car ends up with cosmetic upgrades and my custom license plates.
