if installed correctly and your getting the black screen on your TV check you on the component cable extension and not the RGB one and if still happing just check cables are in the right places and are in tight if not your HDPVR is corrupted and you need to reinstall the program if this fails contact hauppagge customer support as it sounds as if you would have broken hardware within the PVR

Ok if all is setup correctly and the your on the right ext on your TV i would suggest either reinstalling the total media extreme client if this still occurs i think the FW or hardware in the HDPVR is corrupted and you may need to contact hauppage customer services for further help

is the black&white only when recording? And only on the TV?

no its whenever im running it thru my PVR and yes its only on my TV

are you living in Europe or USA? Maybe its a problem with PAL and NTSC. So your TV doesnt support it. You should try an other TV.
