They have different trophy lists. You can platinum Catherine twice. Once on the EU version and once on any other version (US/JP/CH, etc.).
Lots of games have these multiple trophy lists; called "stacking trophy lists". It's pretty common for trophy hunters to earn platinums 2+ times, but can only be done on a small number of games.

It took about a month to do. I'm pretty sure I'm the only person in the world who has the platinum without ever playing guitar before (I bought a guitar the same day I bought this game.) Not sure if I want to sell it. Will probably wait for my friend to take it or sync to my new account or something. But I'll accept an ok offer.
Catherine and Retro/Grade are still r2s as well.
