Yes, in my opinion it is worth it to get minecraft. Even if you don't like the new updates, you can always downgrade your game or play the alpha version on minecraft.net

Yes it is 110% Worth the money you pay for it. Like imagine buying mw2 or something for 50$ compared to 25$ for an even better game?
I have purchased it and it is super worth it.

RIP PICHU.
Personally, I love minecraft. It's a game where you can spend as much or little time and still get something accomplished. Each world is different so each new play-through or start is going to be different.
