(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Usually there are problems with the higher res or hi-def texture packs. If you opened up minecraft and it blackscreens or freezes after installing a new pack can easily be fixed with this. It can also fix the certain blocks that have some fire in it like this: You must login or register to view this content.
Note:before starting make a copy of the .minecraft folder somewhere just in case where you will be directed to below.
[The HD texture pack] You must login or register to view this content.
Step 1. Download the current latest version of the patcher here: You must login or register to view this content.
or see the thread here where they update the latest versions here: You must login or register to view this content. Step 2.
Go to start>type "run">then type:
%appdata%
Now click the ".Minecraft" folder>texturepacks and copy the location above like so: You must login or register to view this content.
Step 3.
Run the program and check texture pack (this will fix it and permanently make it you default, that is why you backed up your .minecraft=D) and then hit browse and paste the location that you copied earlier in the file name box like so: You must login or register to view this content.
Be sure that you hit patch and both minecraft and server programs are off.
If anything goes wrong or you want to get the default texture back read here: You can either do two things: Option A:Use the back-up that you had earlier if you just can't get it to work.
Option B:Go back into the .Minecraft folder and copy the folders that say saves, screenshots, and texture packs if you want to some kind of different location. Then delete the .Minecraft folder and open it for some fresh packages. You can then put back in the files you had copied as long as the texture pack had not been corrupt.
