Valve has finally taken the time to add some much needed updates to its Steam gaming service. The update will include many much needed features including:
Increased aggregate bandwidth: This will help decrease the amount of server lag that is caused by high traffic, such as the traffic that can be caused due to a new game release.
Improved game updates: When updating a game, you will no longer have to re-download the whole patch. When updating you will now only be required to replace the files needed to be updated and not all files for the game. This will greatly improve update speed.
Game updates while playing: It's as simple as that. You will be able to start and download updates while in game, allowing you to play while waiting. The update will then be applied after you exit the game.
These updates will allow for a much better experience when gaming and will also help to improve Steam's notoriously long wait times for updates. There are also various other updates and improvements not listed here. View those by clicking here: You must login or register to view this content.
Been waiting for this feature for some time now, and finally it's done.
Now there just needs to be an option to update steam only when urgent or something because it's a pain when trying to play something in offline mode imo
