With the upcoming release of Battlefield 3, PC gamers are no doubt anxious to join into a 64 player combat zone. With dedicated servers, those playing through their computer will be sure to experience amazing all around gameplay. As you may know, the ever-so-popular title grants players the ability to host their own dedicated servers. However, with the recent revealed price, many may now think twice about making the purchase.
MultiplayGameServers, a famous hosting company for any online based game, has release their prices in regards to the fee of running a Battlefield 3 server (a server allowing for 64 players that is). A £768.00 or $1144.32/Yr charge is what a dedicated server will set you back. After doing some research, this is an estimated double of what the previous titles cost. On the contrary, there are still some big name hosting companies in the running that have yet to confirm their prices.
Although many are not affected by this issue, DICE states that they are leaning towards the communities help, rather than what they can provide.

While the RSPs run the physical machines, most if not all will be paid for and administered by the players themselves – individuals, groups of friends, or clans.
Seeming to rely more on their consumers, many games which you will join in are likely to be player ran by certain individuals. Nevertheless, this price tag seems to be a rather large sum for ordinary beings to spend on a game.
1144.32/64 is only 17.88$ a person if you can get 64 people to play and pitch in that wanna play on it.
That is very true, and I am sure many will do such a thing. I also imagine people who run these dedicated servers can have some sort of donations system where players can also contribute for server costs.

Yeah that and im sure this game will get crazy mods on pc especially and people will host lobbies for money and many other ways an ngu server would be cool if enough people wanted to get in on it.
