I would go with the Wii because you can play burnt games on it and modding is much easier and you can watch Netflix too on the Wii.

Brad Don't listen to those "fanboys" who don't know a good console/game when they see it. (Oh yeah FPS are not considered "good" games). No one has provided good facts and it is indeed sad.

Anyways, the person who said Wii had better graphics is completely wrong. Nintendo said, that the 3DS will have the EXACT same graphics as the Wii has. (Which is amazing). Oh, when you said the 3DS gets "hot" I never experienced it? Never have? Now for the other person above who is also misinformed, 3DS has Netflix.

Now for the other guy who said gameplay is better on Wii is because, the Wii is what 3 or so years old now, and how old is the 3DS? Yeah, that's what I thought. Actually, there are a few good games that supply good gameplay and a ton more coming like Mario 3D land, Mario kart 7, Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, Starfox 64 3D, Madden ( if you like Football), and there is suppose to be a Kingdom Hearts coming as well, and tons more!

This is honestly one of the stupidest statements yet. Obviously, he doesn't own one or hasn't noticed yet. The 3DS has improved graphics (like I said above it has the Wii's graphics). Oh did you also for get the analog stick? Forget the cameras? Forget how the 3DS has APP like things? Forget how the 3DS has an eshop? Do I need to continue?

Those card works for 3ds but they only play ds/dsi games so kind of a waste of money if you are purchasing the console for that reason. It's hard to compare which is better because one is portable and the other...not so much lol. In terms of pirating, the wii is easier to soft mod and you can burn dvds and add games on a hard drive and play it from there. The 3ds has NO way of being able to run illegal roms of 3ds games but I'm sure there will be a way. The ability to get free games doesn't matter as much as what each console has to offer.
In terms of games and gameplay, the wii is pretty much on it's last leg and there isn't much to be released that can possibly interest you(except skyward sword). On the other hand, the 3ds had a very, VERY, very slow start. The launch day game releases were mediocre at best but it's starting to pick up some speed with super mario 3d land and all these 3d re makes of nintendo classic titles. That doesn't mean the wii has nothing to offer and it has plenty of great titles such as super smash bros brawl, metroid prime3, super mario galaxy, house of the dead, no more heroes, mario kart, pokemon battle revolution, mad world, kirby return to dream land, Call of duty ports (which are fun despite the graphics but who gives a damn but it does take a bit to get use to the controls), epic mickey, and not to mention TONS of enjoyable wiiware and virtual consoles. It's a hard choice really but it's up to you.

You can only play the limited homebrew they have because 3DS games haven't been cracked yet, even though there are flashcarts, you can't play free 3DS games..

I buy a 3DS console yesterday. It seems not good. I played games for half an hour, then I feel ache on my eyes. I think the 3D effect is not very good for my eys. It is really useless. The DS or DSi console fit me better.
